Historical Note: Polish lawyer, an activist of the Jewish Community in Lviv. After the establishment of the ghetto in July 1941 he was appointed chairman of the Jewish Council. He remained on this position until October 1941, when he refused to deliver the Jewish people to labor camps and for that reason he was murdered by the Germans in prison on Łąckiego Street in Lviv.
