Historical Note: Polish Research Institute of Population Studies was founded in November 1931. It was affiliated with the Main Statistical Office of Poland (GUS). Professor Ludwik Krywicki was in charge of the Institute. Its Scientific Council and faculty included Professor  Stefan Szulc, Professor Marian Falski, Dr. Marcin Kasprzak, Professor Edward Rosset, Samuel Foglelson and Wiktor Morawski
