Historical Note: Ukrainian Insurgent Army was an OUN led insurgent force. It waged the war against all non-Ukrainian military and civil authorities in the duration of the Second World War in the ethnic Ukrainian territory. Its ultimate goal was the creation of the independent and unified Ukrainian state. The UPA found itself in the military confrontation with the Soviet Red Army, Polish undeground Home Army, German police and security reason. The UPA substantiated the anti-Polish military actions by the geopolitical necessity
