Wachter, Otto, Dr. (Governor of the District of Cracow and later Governor of Eastern Galicia) (1939-1945) | Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust
Name: Wachter, Otto, Dr. (Governor of the District of Cracow and later Governor of Eastern Galicia) (1939-1945)
Historical Note: He was responsible for the persecution of Jews in Austria, and for mass murders in Poland and Ukraine where he worked as the governor of the Cracow and Galicia districts under the General Government. Later, he became the Governor of Eastern Galacia. In spite of having escaped trial in Nuremberg, Wächter's responsibilities for said crimes have since been fairly documented.
