Name: Dilo
Historical Note: Dilo (A Deed) was a Ukrainian political publication, founded as an organ of the Ukrainian National-Democratic movement in Austria-Hungary in 1880. This daily saw publication from 1880 until September 1939. As an official organ of Ukrainian National-Democratic Alliance, the periodical took an independent stance on all major political and social issues, first in Austria-Hungary and then in interwar Poland. Dilo presented the Ukrainian cause vis-à-vis Polish statehood; Jewish-Polish rapprochement; and reflected Ukrainian-Jewish relations from the Ukrainian national, social and cultural standpoints.
