Historical Note:
Salomon Czortkower (June 6, 1903 - 1943, Lviv) – Polish anthropologist of Jewish origin.
He studied on Faculty of Philosophy at the Jan Kazimierz University in Lviv. Since 1925 he devoted to anthropology with particular interest in Jewish anthropology. After the occupation of Lviv in 1941 by the Germans he was interned and by order of German administration he had to develop an anthropological characteristics of prisoners. In 1943 he was transferred to the ghetto in Zamarstyniv, where he died in the same year.
