Historical Note: Jewish communal religious and cultural institutions were officially designated as Jewish Cultural Communities. These executive branches of these communitie served to statiscal, registrational and administrative purposes for all Jewish population of a given locality regardless of their religious beliefs and observance. The Nazi German authorities recognized documents issued by the Jewish Cultural Communities in Germany and Austria.
