This record group contains original personal identification papers issued by the German occupation authorities and by the local collaborating authorities. Some of these documents stand out because they were forged to serve as “Aryan” (non-Jewish) identification papers, enabling the Jews to assume false identities. Additionally, two sub-collections, namely the Red Cross Collection of Communications and the Collection of Jewish Badges and Yellow Stars, are also included in this record group.
