Records Relating to Synagogues of Europe, North... | Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust
This collection contains postcards featuring images of Jewish temples and synagogues worldwide. Many of these synagoges have since been destroyed or converted to other uses. Furthermore, many of these Jewish communities, facing persecution or expulsion, have greatly diminished or ceased to exist entirely as well.
It includes postcards, envelopes, stamps and photographs of various synagogues from around the world, including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the United States and Australia. Postcards are generally blank, though some include brief correspondence in various languages; stamps often include postmark date and nation of origin. The collection also contains several documents detailing the history of select synangogues and brief mention of the destruction of German synagogues during Kristalnacht.
No materials are classified under Synagogues of Europe, Northern Africa and Middle East in postcards and photographs
