Jurek Gutkind, member of Jüdische Ordnungsienst (Jewish Order Police), aid giver (1939 -- 1944) | Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust
Name: Jurek Gutkind, member of Jüdische Ordnungsienst (Jewish Order Police), aid giver (1939 -- 1944)
Historical Note: Jurek Gutkind served in Jüdische Ordnungsienst (Jewish Order Police) in Miedzyrzec – Podlaski. He admired Anna Lipszyc, likely from the prewar time. Judging from the correspondence he fell in love with her. Seemingly, she was not correspondently responsive. She was well concern about her well being and survival. Although she preserved his letters, it is not likely she was responsive to his sincere personal feeling. Jurek Gutkind on the false accusation of bribery was arrested and imprisoned in the Lublin Castle Prison, the after being sentences he was sent to the Buchenwald concentration camp. His fate remains unknown. Anna Lipszyc survived the war working in German under false identity of Anna Wojcik. She successfully married after the war to Mr. Fischer.
