The personal account of Bertrain Levine, a US serviceman, who visited the old Jewish cemetery of Mikvah on Borner Platz with his comrade Ernest Greenburg. They observe some German workmen removing and loading gravestones onto their truck. When Levine confronts one of the workers, he informs him that they plan to crush the gravestones and make bricks out of them. The German workman failed to produce a written order from his superior, prompting Levine to report the incident, including the license plate number of the workman’s truck.
