The American Board of Charities (ABC) was authorized by the Commanding General, Hq. Command, European Command on 1 April 1948. The ABC was composed by the American military personnel. The inception meeting took place on 15 April 1948. The tasks and function of the ABC have been provisionally established, their primary task being fundraising for Displaced Perons camps.
